The Project 1586 Days explores Emelie Schulze’s personal side of documentation. It is a journey through the last four years, in her own words, in her handwriting –as unique as each fingerprint.

Presenting a carefully chosen collection of her thoughts, revealing what would normally be secret, in a playful, hidden, and at the same time explorative way through the French Fold.

This contributes to the concept of personal documentation by creating a space to hide handwriting and image - hereby allowing the reader to live through an experience of vulnerability and honest when exploring the book itself.

The creation of this project became a therapeutic process for the artist, by re-feeling the fragility she felt when writing and by allowing herself to re-discover experiences and challenges that shaped Schulze to become the person she is today.
